I'm updating this soon enough but for now here's an older brief "about me"...

My name is Kevin, I'm a Solutions Architect focusing on delivering web solutions and web strategy. What does that mean? That means I build and provide consultation for the define, design, development, deployment, and maintenance of web applications. I'm a certified MCAD.NET developer, but what do certifications really mean anyway? These days I'm focused on python and django - but more about that later. I've been doing this professionally since 2000, and enjoy the daily learning experiences and everyday challenges.

What I know, and what I do day to day, I utilize my own past experiences, as well continuous research and development. Without the endless knowledge found in far too many blogs, forums, and open source projects I can mention here I'd not be the developer I am today; they are my "virtual" team to whiteboard and throw around ideas with. Hopfeully I can use this blog and this project to add that type of value to the community myself.

Right now I have 3 books in my reading queue - Designing the Obvious, Communicating Design, and The Laws of Simplicity (Simplicity: Design, Technology, Business, Life) which I'm reading for the 2nd time because it's so good. You'll notice the majority of these books are about information design and communication. These are two things I want to focus strongly on right now. I have a lot to learn/re-learn in this domain, as you can probably tell.

My goal for the blog is to discuss a variety of things - family, work, life, etc. I hope to learn, entertain, and educate whenever possible. It's an ongoing ride... I'm just here trying to enjoy it.

The design of the blog? Well, that deserves it's own post, but I like to think of it as my sketchpad. Thanks for reading.
